Installation & Maintenance Pitfalls (Expert Tips)
- Ignoring Current Derating at High Temperatures: The maximum load current of the module is 2A only when the ambient temperature is 0 – 40°C. If it is used in a high-temperature environment such as near a boiler (up to 60°C), the current must be derated to 1.5A. Exceeding the derated current will cause overheating and damage the module. It is recommended to install a temperature sensor near the module to monitor the temperature in real time.
- Improper Configuration of Working Modes: The module has two working modes: single module and dual module. If the fault-tolerant dual-module (2oo2) configuration is mistakenly used in a simple control scenario, it will cause resource waste; if the single-module configuration is used in a high-risk scenario, the safety redundancy will be insufficient. It is necessary to select the appropriate configuration according to the safety level requirements of the application scenario.
- Rough Operation During Hot-Swapping: Although the module supports hot replacement, plugging and unplugging during the peak period of signal output may cause transient signal interruption. It is best to perform hot-swapping operations during the low-load period of the system, and check whether the module is firmly installed and the indicator light is normal after replacement.
- Neglecting Fuse Inspection: The module’s fuses are installed on the front panel for easy maintenance. However, if the fuses are not regularly inspected, the module may fail to protect the circuit when overcurrent occurs. It is recommended to check the fuse status regularly during routine maintenance and prepare spare fuses of the same specification.
