Description
The IC695PSA040 is a 40 W auto-ranging power-supply module that snaps into any slot of an RX3i Universal Backplane. It converts a wide-range AC or DC source (85-264 VAC or 100-300 VDC) into three regulated outputs—+5.1 V, +3.3 V, and +24 V—needed by the CPU, analog, and digital I/O modules. A separate +24 V relay output terminal is provided to energize the coils of output-relay modules, eliminating the need for an external 24 V supply.
Because only one IC695PSA040 is permitted per Universal Backplane, the card is typically used in simplex configurations; if more capacity or redundancy is required, additional modules must be placed in expansion or remote backplanes.

IC695PSA040
Auto-ranging input – Accepts 85-264 VAC or 100-300 VDC without jumpers, so the same part number works worldwide and rides through plant battery float-voltage swings without nuisance shutdowns.
In combined-cycle plants the IC695PSA040 is routinely installed in the left-most slot of the RX3i Universal Backplane that governs gas-turbine fuel valves, inlet-guide-vane actuators, and cooling-water pumps. The 24 V relay output feeds the coils of high-density output modules, while the 5.1 V rail powers the CPU and high-speed counter modules.
