DS3800HCIB1B1C: Product Overview
The DS3800HCIB1B1C is a daughterboard-grade analog input card that plugs onto a motherboard carrier inside the Mark IV rack. It samples ±10 V, 0–10 V, 0–5 V, or 4–20 mA signals from temperature transmitters, pressure transducers, position sensors, and remote DCS loops, conditions them (amplification, filtering, isolation), and streams 12-bit digital data to the CPU over the VME back-plane. The card is hardware-configured (no firmware) and deterministic, making it suitable for safety-related process monitoring when triple-redundant.
Physical implementation includes 12-bit successive-approximation ADCs, op-amp signal conditioners, galvanic isolation, and TVS surge suppressors. A modular keyed connector on one edge and retention levers ensure blind-mate insertion in crowded card cages. Front-edge LEDs (green = channel active, red = over-range) give real-time channel health—no multimeter required during commissioning.
